21.2 lbs gone

It's gone ... over 20 lbs. Just think about much that is! Like 4 bags of sugar! Or almost as much as my turkey weighed! I can tell to. My kness don't hurt as much and I have a little more engery(although not much). But the best part is that I feel more confident! AND I have some clothes that are fitting MUCH better!

Okay ... here's the goal. I hope to hit this by August.... another 20 lbs. Actually less than that. 18 lbs! It's taken me since Jan 27 to lose this first 20 (with 2 weeks of totally not trying when I broke my wrist), so I think by August I should be okay to lose 18 more lbs. And then 6 weeks of maintance. After that, Lifetime WW member! I never want to be fat again!!!!!

Em's Date to Banquet

Emilee's date to banquet - Adam. He's a good kid. Very quiet, especially around us, but I'm sure around Emilee he's alittle more vocal (at least I hope so). He's seems really sweet and I probably could say a lot more on him, but won't. I like him .... does that say enough?
Adam and his family live in Goodlettsville. We met them at Goodlettsville City Hall, which a lot more folks from GCS (which we didn't know at the time). We took some pictures and then left for the banquet at school. We should have let Em and Adam ride together, but for some reason, I didn't think about that till afterwards!

This was at the house before we left. She looked sooooo pretty! These pictures don't do her justice.

Goodpasture 7&8th grade banquet

7&8th grade banquet is a big deal.... it's a mini-prom. 8th graders get recognized since it's their last year of middle school. And 7th graders just get to watch. And wait till their turn next year. It was fun to see all the girls dressed up pretty. So many beautiful dresses. It appears this year the theme was more short and puffy ... but really you saw alittle bit of everything. I only saw one repeat of dress. But that's pretty good considering ....

Banquet is tomorrow & more

Tomorrow is banquet night! GMS will host the 7&8th grade banquet. Em has a hot date ... Adorable Adam! I can't wait to take pictures of them! They make such a cute couple. He's tall, really tall and Em has heels, so she'll be good with him. Her dress is black and pink and he's got a black, white and pink tie. How sweet!

I've lost 18.2 lbs now. I'm pretty excited and totally motivated to loose more! I've love to hit the 20 lb mark next week! And I'd love to be able to say it's time to shop for more clothes, but it's not really that time yet. My last year summer stuff is fitting okay. So, I'm good, I think, for this season. Maybe a few "refreshers" is all I need.

More later!

EASTER 2010

Easter 2010 ..... it was a beautiful day in Middle Tennessee .... we got up and guess who was first getting ready .... Em. I couldn't believe it. She's never first. Isn't she pretty and so grown up!?!?!? We went to church (9:30 service) and it was crowded, but great to see everyone. Then we came home and did laundry and I sat out on the deck and read a book. Then about 3:00 we went to my friend Mary Jo's house to participate in the kids Easter Egg Hunt. They all had a lot of fun. But we didn't get to stay too long because we were having supper with Nana & Grandaddy. It was yummy ... pork loin, Turkey breast, green beans, mashed potatoes and mac&cheese ... all the favorites.
I'm not to proud of my picture with Em and myself. I look huge .... but confession time.... I'm doing Weight Watchers. So maybe next Easter I can post a pictures of a skinny Christy. I've already lost 16lbs and honestly only have about 20 to 25 lbs to go and I'll be good. I wanted to get this off before I turn 40 next year! Pray with me! It's going to be a journey!!!

OPENING DAY TURKEY

This is the first year (out of 3) that I've actually killed on opening day ... what a great feeling! AND, it was with a BOW! WOW ... been trying to do that for two years. I started shooting again (after my wrist surgery) a week ago and bam! I got a turkey! Woo-Hoo!!!! Here are some pictures!

He weighed 24.6 lbs, 10.5 inch beard and his spurs were 7/8 (a little over). He's probably a two year old bird and one of the 3 Amigo's we've been watching for a couple of years!

The long boring story: we sat almost all day Saturday. From 10:30 - 4:00 before a group of Toms, Jakes and Hens made their way to our ridge. This Tom spotted our decoy and made a beeline for it. Steve was taping with the video camera and was trying to make sure we were on the same bird. When he saw this one come he, he was like this is your bird. So as the turkey is FACING me in the blind, I draw back, but I guess he was so intent on the decoy he never noticed me. Drawing back sitting is hard, let me tell you.... takes all upper body strength and when you're trying to do it without being noticed and quickly .. more pressure! So I get pulled back, waiting for him to take a step out from behind the decoy and I let the arrow fly. I hit him a bit far back, but I knew I had hit him. He ran off, down the hill. Not just a hill ... a mountain and ended up dying in the creek. WOW! Lucky for us, Neighbor Mike hiked back up the mountain with him for me, I'd never had made it!
